Your restaurant is a ghost if you're not on the internet. In our information age, people don't go to the yellow pages to find a restaurant. They Google restaurants, use local restaurant review websites and sites like Open Table. You need to attack all three of these methods. I provide localized search engine optimization to attract customers in your area. We will work together to get your restaurant listed along with your website in the review websites. Then, we can sign you up for venues like open table and embed the ability for people to make reservation right on your site.
Restaurant Website Essentials
The following list is the essentials for any restaurant website. Some maybe straight forward and obvious but that is what a restaurant website should be.
1. PDF Menus: This is the number one! You need your menu on the site and it has to be up-to-date. I suggest having the prices along with the menu so people can plan accordingly but that’s just my opinion I have had proprietors who think differently.
2. Restaurant Specials: This is where your easy-to-use Content Management System comes into play. You should put your specials up daily. I'm not a fan of having a specials list for the week. Think about it if you look up a restaurant and see they have a great special but it's not for two days, you will not be going there tonight you will wait two days. You don't want to take the risk of a potential customer waiting two days. What if they have a long day at work that day or get sick... then you lose a customer. You want a customer to come in tonight!
3. Chef Profile: Putting a small profile into the website about your chef is a great idea. Give a little background and photo people will eat it up and get excited because they know a little bit about the chef that is cooking for them.
4. Directions: Yes, you need to let people know how to get to your restaurant. My favorite way of doing this is through Google maps. You embed the map right to your site, potential customers just type in their address and Google maps get them in your doors. This isn't only useful, it's very professional looking and easy to implement.
